Vintage Dot Neck Casinos?

There having been a total of only 439 Dot-Necked Epiphone Casinos shipped out (all 1961 models, I believe), as opposed to 4,786 Gibson ES 330 Dot Necks, I was wondering if any owners of those that still exist are forum members? If so, I would love to see some pics of such, as I've only come across a handful on line, mostly on reference sites. Mine (posted elsewhere on this site in a different context) is pictured below.

No strap button at the heel?

No, I lucked out in that regard. Too many of these old buttonless thinlines have unfortunately had someone somewhere along the line screw one in, often to the physical (& always to the aesthetic, IMO) detriment of the instrument.

A great looking guitar, this single p90 Casino.Very unique.

I just have a ´61 Anniversary Casino....

I'm thinking about picking one of those up myself..... my brother just ordered one. They're surprisingly good, especially for the price. Mine is just too precious for me to be hauling around to gigs.

Am I the only one on this forum that owns an original dot neck?

I happen to run across this, while wandering eBay this morning (almost anything with a natural colored body catches my eye). Must be the Gibson equivilent. Sure looks similar. Love yours, though.

Yes, that's the Gibson variant. There were, according to my research/calculations, 4,786 DotNeck Gibson ES330s made, as opposed to only 439 Casino DotNecks (110 of the single pickup model). Consequently, I haven't yet found anyone on the various forums that seems to have one. Mine had been out of circulation since it's inception..... I got it from a woman who had inherited it from her father (who purchased it new in '61) 26 years ago, after which time it had languished in her closet until I rescued it a few months ago.
