Well I went over to Sam Ash and I had my mind set on an ESP George Lynch with the tiger strype finish on it.As they were good enough salesmen over there to set it up before I tried it and I was sitting there waiting I took a Melody Maker Explorer off the wall with a single humbucker one volume knob no tone knob and a wrap around bridge.First thing I noticed was how good it felt in my hands and the body being 5% smaller it felt perfect. The PU is a Seymour Duncan HB-103 humbucker and it kicks butt big time.I like P90's seems most MM's come with them but I like humbucker's better and again this is a screamer plus. They only had a white one which I would have picked anyway and I guess their a limited run so no others coming in and I have heard a few people complain about the headstock not being a hockey stick shape but I dig the shape it came with. The guitar is perfect for me,the finish is really nice and they set it up while I waited. The guitar was a serious surprise for me I would have never thought to buy a MM.If I do have a complaint it's that the only place it says Gibson is on the truss rod cover.Well what you think?

It really is fun to play and this is the only guitar I have ever had with one PU and just a volume control. You can back off the volume and get a clean sound but it was made for screaming, the output is suprising thats what made me notice it first. As for price I think it was $529.00 not bad for a Gibson,I could have bought another brand but as I looked at the Ibanez,Jackson, Schecter and others the models all blended together as to I had trouble telling them apart even what one to try out.The highest price other brands arent always the best,I have had some killer Epi's that were less expensive that would have blown away many more expensive brands.I didnt think $529.00 was a bad price for a Gibby I really liked a lot,you really have to try one out and be as suprised as I was.
