Save!!!

Dont settle. Even if you have to wait a bit. Do what you need to do.

Its clear you want a Les Paul....dont settle for anything but.

I know its frustrating to wait, but not only will you enjoy it more because you worked and saved for it, but youll also be the proud owner of an authentic Gibson Les Paul.

Say it over and over....

Yep I agree. Shop around everywhere and I'm sure you'll get one that fits your budget. Also, have patience. I went to about 10 different places before I got my Premium Plus and I got it brand new for 900 bucks less than what you see on the web. This was about a year long process. My point here is that with a little patience and saving, you can get a great Les Paul for a great price. When you finally do get it, you'll appreciate it even more.

i used to have an Epiphone les Paul Standard Goldtop 56.. real nice guitar. Then i started to save some money for almost a year, and then i sold my Epihone and i bought my Gibson Les Paul Standard CherrySunburt... and i can tell you, if you really want that Les Paul sounde,,, you should get a GIBSON LES PAUL,, thou my epiphone was a real good guitar for an epiphone.. Gibson it`s just amazing...

Just, try to save if you can... and all the time that you waited for it.. will worth

As everyone else says, save up (assuming you won't have to wait ten years) for a Gibson.

The Epi is a lovely instrument but just having the Gibson logo on the headstock will give you so much pleasure (if my own experience after buying my first 'Real' guitar is a guide) you will ultimately want to spend more time playing it and will also get better sooner as a result.

Best of luck.

buy used. let me repeat, buy used. with the market the way it is, you can get amazing deals buying used guitars. and by buying used, i dont mean buying used stuff at Guitar Center. watch your local craigslist. it may take some time, but you might be pleasantly suprised.

You can get an Epi Les Paul for $300' date=' you can't find a Gibson for that much.

The cheapest Gibson Les Paul is probably the Vintage Mahogany or the BFG?[/quote']

I think the Menace was cheaper too... and what about the Godess? (I think they are no longer made tho...)
