Denis57 Posted January 4, 2012 Posted January 4, 2012 Although not a big fan, I found this clip pretty cool. Enjoy
Denis57 Posted January 4, 2012 Author Posted January 4, 2012 Wow weird timing! As I added this new topic, I just noticed the new tread on the very same guitar
Harmonics101 Posted January 4, 2012 Posted January 4, 2012 Denis57, thank you for sharing that little clip. I'm pretty much a Sheryl Crow fan and i thoroughly enjoyed it. Is this off some sort of DVD anthology that she has out ? I'll have to do some digging because I am always out for a good historical anthology on any of my favorite artists (Sheryl : Neil : Pete Townsend) That looks like a country western original and not one of her models that she is playing there. Lots of wear on the headstock. Harmonics101
livemusic Posted January 4, 2012 Posted January 4, 2012 Well, I *AM* a fan, I luvvvvvvv her! That is a wonderful strumming song, and her CW sounds great! This next song SLAYS me. It's so purty. A song she wrote about her son that she adopted...

livemusic Posted January 4, 2012 Posted January 4, 2012 And... here's a song I wrote about her... http://soundcloud.com/bill-pittman/i-think-i-could-love-you Recorded on my Gibson Gospel. Someday I'll do a real recording on a Sheryl Crow sig model!
J-1854Me Posted January 4, 2012 Posted January 4, 2012 I am pretty sure that is her beloved CW that her sig model was based on. I guess she essentially said, "Copy this one." That was her '62 CW, in all likelihood. I remember back about 11 - 12 years ago, Dave Rogers (Dave's Guitar) was telling me that he had one or two of the Sheryl prototypes in stock for sale -- brand new from the factory. Apparently, they had done up some for her in a sunburst finish for whatever reason, and she didn't want them/rejected them/whatever, and so Dave ended up with a few. Like a fool, I took a pass on getting one -- what a dummy! I think it would have been cool to have a sunburst SC prototype model. Fred
Harmonics101 Posted January 4, 2012 Posted January 4, 2012 Hey LiveMusic, I really enjoyed your composition there. The wit, the humor, the vocals were very very nicely done there. Thank you very much for sharing, Harmonics101

This might have been 1 of them – in reality a SJ (you know). I posted it long ago with a Q. about the C&W diploma. Mystery solved. . . . Would like one of each - And yes, , , the vintage one sounds good. Semi-softly touched, beautiful.
EuroAussie Posted January 4, 2012 Posted January 4, 2012 Mrs EA sings this track with us sometimes, shes a Sheryl C fan, and we base it on this specific version. Agree, the CW sounds really good in this clip.
MR GIBS Posted January 4, 2012 Posted January 4, 2012 Well, I *AM* a fan, I luvvvvvvv her! That is a wonderful strumming song, and her CW sounds great! This next song SLAYS me. It's so purty. Brilliant, brilliant........ Wish I could do so............
livemusic Posted January 4, 2012 Posted January 4, 2012 Thanks for posting this song. First time I hear that masterpeace and can't stop.... Brilliant, brilliant........ Wish I could do so............ WOW, Krasi, you have a wonderful voice! I listened to your youtube, I think it is the song, "100 Years After." What kind of guitar is that? The plugged in sound is excellent. What kind of pickup? Very nice playing, too, easy listening. I can see why you like Sheryl's "Lullaby For Wyatt!"

The guitar I play in "100 years after" is a bulgarian master-luthier's replica of a martin 0028, but modified. The top is 20 years old european cedar, the back and sides are indian rosewood. The neck is mahogany. The brige and the fretboard are some kind of strange ebony. The keys are metal-hand-carved. The pickup is a L.R.Baggs i-beam active. The name of the luthier is Galin Penev. The name of the guitar (I give names of my instruments) is "The Gale".

Thank you very much for sharing, Harmonics101 Thanks for listening. I had no idea if anyone would enjoy it, it's a silly song. Feedback helps. Now I know one person got a charge out of it.
E-minor7 Posted January 4, 2012 Posted January 4, 2012 By the way, somebody - maybe it was EA - recently asked about the difference between contemporary sq. sh's. and vintage – then added an extra Q about first 60's versus late 60's models. Listen closely to Sheryls totally open, sensitive fragile, dry yet somehow dripping 1962 C&W. This, for obvious reasons, you'll never hear in a new guitar – nor from the heavier braced ones out of the later half of the decade. …..............And talking 'bout open, check this burning shot from the archive. Had to beam it down to 15 % as it's simply too strong in full size. …...................................
