herecomesevan Posted January 5, 2012 Posted January 5, 2012 the washer for my es-335 pickup toggle switch recently came off during a gig, and the switch itself fell into the guitar. i just got a new washer and i can maneuver the switch into the hole position, but for some reason the switch will not go all the way through the front of the guitar, as if something is blocking it. has anyone had this problem? i know it's able to, its the same switch that came with the guitar. any help would be greatly appreciated!
L5Larry Posted January 5, 2012 Posted January 5, 2012 The knurled trim nut that is used to hold the Switchcraft selector switch in place on Gibson guitars has recessed threads. The threaded portion of the nut extends down into the hole and screws onto the switch below the face of the guitar. A standard potentiometer or jack type flat nut will not work. Any respectable experienced guitar tech should have the proper nut you require.
