ParlourMan
Any users of crossnote and open Minor tunings in here? I'm working on a song at the minute which is tuned to open Gm, the same tuning is labelled as a 'crossnote tuning', for my purposes on this song I've actually got it tuned down to a flabby Em, or B, E, B, E, G, B. Probably the least tension I've had on a neck yet. I must add it does make it sound quite a growly piece....
Clayfingers
I use them occassionally, open Dm (DADFAD) and Gm (DGDGBbD). Never get down to a B on the high E though, gets too flappin' in the wind. My favourite bit of open minor tuning guitar,

zombywoof
I got no choice - if ya wanna play some Skip James Open Dm is essential. A while back I was goofing around with playing the Beatles "Things We Said Today" in Open Gm7. Seemed to work pretty good.
ParlourMan
I have a 12-fretter tuned down to open Em at the minute, while there's a little flab if strummed hard, it's actually very usable for fingerpicking. The one thing I've noticed is increase in the bloom of the notes making it seem like the guitar is much louder.

Rambler
When I'm playing Skipper, that's the tuning. Tried the Gm for Shade Grove, a Martin Simpson arrangement. Kind of like an old banjo thing. Good sound. Great sound. I'd be thinking if you are going to key it as you as you do that ou use one of our lang-scale guitars to keep it from getting too floppy.
