I recently bought this custom shop Gibson J-180EB. It has features of the "EVERLY" including the pick guard and star inlay fret board but it also has a moustache bridge and no pickup. I emailed Bozeman some images as well as the serial number and they replied:"This is a variation of the J-180 that Gibson Montana builts in small quantities from time to time. Thanks."Does anyone have anymore info on this custom shop acoustic?

The original Everly models from the '60s had an adjustable bridge that was actually designed by Ike Everly, Phil and Don's dad.

I understand that since Gibson and the Everlys had a falling out some time ago, Gibson no longer calls their reissues the "Everly" model but simply a J-180, and Ike's bridge design no longer graces this guitar either. 1990s reissues (like one I own) simply have a fixed bridge, and the newer ones like yours feature the moustache bridge.

EDIT - here's a Ren Ferguson custom J-180 example from 2004 where he did use the original bridge design, however

I have an identical J-180 to yours as well as a 2006 model in natural.

It is my understanding that Fullers ordered that variation of J-180

with the moustache bridge. In my opinion, the star inlays in the

moustache bridge really work well with the other inlays. My other

J-180 has the standard bridge.

Bonhams in London have one of Phil Everlys guitars up for auction next week. It looks like the real deal a Gibson jumbo with a large pickguard. Estimate £10.000 to £15.000

Large window should be interesting.
