vulgarium
I want to order a customized "Historic" CustomShop LP standard with a series of specific requirements, for example: antique gold finish with all nickel hardware (original new finish, non-aged/V.O.S), 59 neck profile with long tenon joint, ebony fingerboard, sperzel locking tuner, tonepros locking bridge/tailpiece, schaller straplock, seymour duncan pickups with cover and coil splitter. How does the order process start? How much will such an order cost normally? How long will it take from the very beginning to the final delivery? Any one could help me on this? Thanks in advance! Raptor
First thing you have to do is find 24 friends who all want to buy the same guitar. Gibson no longer does custom one off orders. You need to order a minimum of 25. When they did do custom orders, and if they open it up again, you will have to go to a dealer and have them submit your specs to Gibson for a quote and ETA. Gibson would say yes or no, and give a quote with an approximate ETA. They can get very expensive, as there is no MSRP for a dealer to go buy, they can charge almost anything they want. Admin, never could give you an answer if something was possible or not, ETA, or price. He could tell you some things were a definite no, like trying to get parts from a signature guitar on a custom order, but that was it. Anyway, as I said, they no longer do them so sorry. BTW the guitar in my avatar is a one off custom order from the CS. The ETA was 8 months and the quote was over $10K
