TommyK Posted January 9, 2012 Posted January 9, 2012 Got any particular guitar in mind? Got any pictures? Got any threes?
sneakerpimp Posted January 9, 2012 Posted January 9, 2012 a humbucker rotated at an angle or one shaped like a parallelogram? either way, i think you'll have to get one custom made.
Jon S. Posted January 10, 2012 Posted January 10, 2012 Maybe www.pickguards.com or www.pickguardian.com . If they don't have them, they can make one for you.
NightTimeConcealmentX91 Posted January 10, 2012 Author Posted January 10, 2012 http://www.warmoth.com/Pickguard/StratPickguard.aspx This would work right?
surfpup Posted January 11, 2012 Posted January 11, 2012 http://www.warmoth.com/Pickguard/StratPickguard.aspx This would work right? Yep. They did this one for me - though I did not choose the angled cut.
Malchik Posted January 11, 2012 Posted January 11, 2012 Why would you want a guitar with no tone knob? Tone knobs are for the weak! I use no-load pots to bypass.
surfpup Posted January 12, 2012 Posted January 12, 2012 Why would you want a guitar with no tone knob? Sorry. I thought you were looking for a pickguard. My bad. Why would I want a guitar with no tone knob? It's wide open - no load. It's my take on the VH1 guitar. For that stuff you don't really need a tone knob!
Searcy Posted January 20, 2012 Posted January 20, 2012 So you ordered a pick guard cut for an angled humbucker and you don't know why? The point of the angled humbucker was to get the Gibson spaced poles to cast a wide enough magnetic field to encompass the strings of a Fender spaced bridge.
Searcy Posted January 20, 2012 Posted January 20, 2012 If you did it just for looks quit asking questions and playing with rulers.
sneakerpimp Posted January 20, 2012 Posted January 20, 2012 the angle looks too severe... how did you arrive at that angle? and, yes, it is too far from the bridge. BUT if dimished and unbalanced pick attack work for this guitar and you like it, no point in going further... project complete.
