Riffster Posted January 12, 2012 Posted January 12, 2012 Finally! I got my Akai Pro Electromusic Interface Expander today and coincidentally sold my Line 6 UX2 the same day. This thing is sexy!!all metal body, retro looks and true 4x4, I can record 4 tracks at the same time, came with Cubase Lite and Ableton Lite. and then while looking for something else I ran into this Box that allows you to play through headphones and/or add a CD input to your amp if it has an effects loop or insert input. It also works to send a direct signal to a recording device. Sure the headphone out is emulated but still!! I picked this thing on eBay, new for $22 shipped!
ShredAstaire Posted January 12, 2012 Posted January 12, 2012 Looks awesome man....can't wait to hear how it all sounds!! Gear is fun!!
Riffster Posted January 12, 2012 Author Posted January 12, 2012 I am liking the Axe Box, really cool for silent practice, Nice to have the ability to play using my main amp not bad at all for the price. I'll get to record soon again.
EVOL! Posted January 12, 2012 Posted January 12, 2012 Sweet! How many tracks does your software read when plugging in the Akai Pro Electromusic Interface Expander via USB? Is it four in/four out?
Riffster Posted January 12, 2012 Author Posted January 12, 2012 Sweet! How many tracks does your software read when plugging in the Akai Pro Electromusic Interface Expander via USB? Is it four in/four out? I have not had the opportunity to install it but it is a 4x4 so it is four tracks on the interface, However Ableton and Cubase only allow you 2 tracks at once on their "Lite" aka free version. Garageband allows 8 tracks at once I believe. I actually played with the Axe Box last night, really cool that I get to use my main amp for headphone practice, what a neat device.
Riffster Posted January 13, 2012 Author Posted January 13, 2012 EVOL here is the description from their website I had to look it up again because the manual is very brief. So it does say four in/four out, the only limitation would be the software used. The EIE Pro is a tabletop USB 2.0 audio interface perfectly tailored for your project and portable studio setups. This four-in, four-out (4x4) device features low latency ASIO drivers and enables you to record up to 24-bit resolution and sample rates of 44.1 kHz/48 kHz/88.2 kHz/96 kHz into virtually any DAW, recording or performance software on Mac and PC-based systems. The EIE Pro also houses three convenient USB inputs, in addition to its main USB 2.0 port, enabling you to connect controllers, hard drives or any other peripheral when native ports on a computer may be limited. The compact recording interface contains high-quality components including nickel-plated input jacks, analog-style VU meters and a rugged aluminum casing for a powerful, professional, portable audio solution.
Riffster Posted January 13, 2012 Author Posted January 13, 2012 OK am I missing something again, only 22 for the entire lot? $22 for the second item, the Akai interface was $250.
