Decode Posted January 12, 2012 Posted January 12, 2012 Do they still make the Les Paul Standard Faded Series? http://www.gibson.com/Files/USA_PDFs/Data_LP_faded.pdf
Decode Posted January 12, 2012 Author Posted January 12, 2012 Thanks for the response. I am new to the forum trying to meet the 10 post requirement at the moment sorry about the lazy question. Musicians friend had it listed as discontinued. Wasn't sure if that meant on their site or altogether.
Gary Moore Tribute Posted January 12, 2012 Posted January 12, 2012 Heres one http://www.ebay.com/itm/Gibson-Les-Paul-Standard-Faded-Guitar-Honey-Burst-2007-/200698007768?pt=Guitar&hash=item2eba8890d8 Store wise http://www.gear4music.com/Guitar-and-Bass/DISC-Gibson-Les-Paul-Standard-Faded-50s-Neck-Honey-Burst/9T0 http://www.dawsons.co.uk/gibson-les-paul-standard-faded-honeyburst http://www.musiciansfriend.com/guitars/gibson-les-paul-standard-faded-50s-neck I think its discontinued based on the availability.
Decode Posted January 12, 2012 Author Posted January 12, 2012 Nice I love the look of that line of guitars. Those shops all say unavailable for purchase and the one on Ebay is used that is why I assumed they possibly didn't make them anymore.
Xinnix Posted January 12, 2012 Posted January 12, 2012 Yes and remember Google is your friend, or a quick jump to any online guitar sales site. Thats not a Standard. Its a Studio. No, they don't' make a Standard Faded anymore. Produced in 2005 and Discontinued in 2009. 60's Necks were discontinued in 2007
GibSinCity Posted January 13, 2012 Posted January 13, 2012 Yeah, those are out of production. A lot of people liked those guitars. Some say having the thinner faded finish made them more resonant. Larry Corsa would use those exclusivley to do the Peter Green Mod. for customers. Now he makes his own guitars but sometimes has Gibson Standard Fadeds for sale. There's currently three for sale. Two at the top of the list, and the seventh one down here: http://cvguitars.com/PGMod/ You might look into the Traditional Pro. Basically, a faded finish except for top. Probably as close as you're gonna get, and a good starting point if you want to mod it however you want. http://www2.gibson.com/Products/Electric-Guitars/Les-Paul/Gibson-USA/Les-Paul-Traditional-Pro.aspx
CaptainNemo68 Posted January 14, 2012 Posted January 14, 2012 I miss my faded Standards... :( What happened to them?
GuitarJunkie Posted January 14, 2012 Posted January 14, 2012 What happened to them? Wound up selling them to fund my guitar addiction. I guess when you consider what I replaced them with, I shouldn't be too upset. But, they were great guitars.
Rabs Posted January 16, 2012 Posted January 16, 2012 WOW,ive never seen those before... I want one :).. I love the studio faded and I have a Double Cut faded which is great. BUT a Standard Faded, wow.. Gibson if you are reading PLEASE make more of these, id have no choice but to buy one :) (and make sure it has a 60s or asymmetrical neck)..

But, they were great guitars. I'd sell a kid or chop off my left testy before I get rid of my 05 Standard Faded.........!
drew365 Posted January 17, 2012 Posted January 17, 2012 I love my '07 Standard Faded. There was a run of Traditional Faded that were only available in Canada and I understand there may be one still for sale, also a few months ago someone found two at a store in Seattle. If you're interested I can try to find a link, but it would take some searching.
fingers galore Posted January 17, 2012 Posted January 17, 2012 Here is my 08 LP Standard Faded. I will never sell it.
