heymisterk Posted January 13, 2012 Posted January 13, 2012 I posted this on the Forum, but thought I would put it here too! Played on Taylor GS8. Tough song, I found, to sing and play. I flubbed the final chord.
brazil66 Posted January 13, 2012 Posted January 13, 2012 Very nice. It's so hard to record without mistakes. I like it. Michael
MR GIBS Posted January 13, 2012 Posted January 13, 2012 I adore this song since 1976 when I first time listened it. Never had the courage to aproach it and never will... Good cover, mate! I can't do that.
drathbun Posted January 14, 2012 Posted January 14, 2012 Excellent cover heymisterk! This is one of Lennon's most sublime creations IMO. This and "Beautiful Boy". It is so delicate in the fingerstyle and so evocative in the imagery of the lyrics. This makes it very difficult to play. I find I tend to rush the tempo. To make it softer I play it on my nylon string guitar. Has anyone seen "Nowhere Boy"? If you haven't, and you get a chance, watch it. It is is a pretty accurate depiction of Lennon's childhood up through the inception of the Beatles. His relationship with his mother, Julia, and how it is portrayed in that film, makes this song all the more poignant. Thanks for posting this. :)
onewilyfool Posted January 14, 2012 Posted January 14, 2012 Thumbs up, brother....NOT an easy song to do, and you did great!
