Not sure. I've always loved this chord progression, but the lyrics make me a little uncomfortable as far as performing it goes.

Howdy...this is a busy little song. Don't have time now to fig it out but the first 4 chord segment of the verse beginning with the vocals is F#, A#m, B, C#. Barre for ease. Hope it gets you started.

Thanks - I pretty much have the rest of the song down (in my very simplified version), it's just that first chord that's bugging me.

Hi hlarry14,

I'd not heard this before, despite being a bit of a Clapton fan when I was younger. Thanks for introducing it. The intro pattern is just a few simple double-stops based around the chord tones/shapes, with the odd hammer on (I found a couple of different ways to play it - same notes, different positions - I'm sure at least one would fall under your fingers comfortably).

Very easy & quick to show you how to play it if you have Skype, would take less time than it has for me to type this. Sorry I don't 'do' tab, it would take me far longer. Please feel free to send me a message if you'd like my Skype user name & we can run through it in 5 or 10 mins I'm sure.

I also put up a quick & dirty video (never done one before, sorry for crappy built-in camera & mic) on my photobucket sharing page : -

With luck it might also show up here...

This shows the intro based on 2nd position F# (the other way I found starts from the F# shape in 6th position & drops down, nicer to play but a bit trickier to show). Sorry if the strumming is off, I don't really know the song.

Anyway, hope it is of some help. ;)

Think the chords for the rest of the song are basically:

C# Fm F# G# (verse), &

A Emaj7 F#m7 A E F# E (Chorus)

The ones HERE sound pretty good after a cursory play through.

Cheers & good luck,

Bill.

Way good Bill! You've filled up the rest of my day. I'll try and fine tune to get it down to where I can get through top to bottom by evening. It's too freekin' cold to go outdoors anyway. Thanks!

Thanks very much!! I think I can get it from your video - very helpful indeed, I appreciate it!
