RowdyMoon Posted January 14, 2012 Posted January 14, 2012 Nice...love the Johnny...saw him live back in the 80's ..man he rocked the place.
SG Jones Posted January 14, 2012 Posted January 14, 2012 Did you notice Johhny dropping his slide at about 2:35?
Malchik Posted January 14, 2012 Posted January 14, 2012 I had the opportunity to see him play live twice. Phenomenal.
Californiaman Posted January 14, 2012 Author Posted January 14, 2012 I had the opportunity to see him play live twice. Phenomenal. Yeah me too. Back during the late 70s and again in early 2K. Always a pleasure. His new album Roots is pretty good.
Malchik Posted January 14, 2012 Posted January 14, 2012 For a sickly ninety pound man, that guy puts in at least ninety dates a year. It's mind boggling how much that man tours. Pollstar has him listed for 57 dates for 2012 and I'm certain he'll squeeze in more shows.
daveinspain Posted January 14, 2012 Posted January 14, 2012 I know Johnny, He used to come to my parties when I lived in LA. Too bad I wasn't playing guitar at the time...
Versatile Posted January 14, 2012 Posted January 14, 2012 JW is an international treasure I just picked up a 5 CD boxed set And the Firebirds are a drool-fest... V

jaxson50 Posted January 15, 2012 Posted January 15, 2012 I saw Winters on Letterman the other night, he was as always, as great as ever. I wonder if he still has that great collection of National resonators?
Californiaman Posted January 16, 2012 Author Posted January 16, 2012 I saw Winters on Letterman the other night, he was as always, as great as ever. I wonder if he still has that great collection of National resonators? Last time I saw him the promoter gave a way a National Resophonic Tri-Cone with Johnny's Signature on it. That would have been a nice thing to bring home from the show.
jaxson50 Posted January 16, 2012 Posted January 16, 2012 I know he once had one of the best collections of Nationals and maybe the largest collection of Tri-Cones.
