ZuWa
I picked up an '82 Custom and it came in this case. From what I can gather this is a case from between 1970 - 1974. Is that correct? The case is VERY light. The silver GIBSON is slightly prismatic when shifted under light. The inside is purple, not red. Four buckles. Did I say it was light? :)
Searcy
I have a 74 Ripper with a case that was just like that.
ZuWa
I have a 74 Ripper with a case that was just like that. I've seen a ton of 80's LPs but had never seen a case exactly like this before. Thanks Searcy.
L5Larry
My 1975 Les Paul came in a case somewhat similar to this, same logo, same color interior, but... it had the extra latch on the hinge side by the cutaway horn.

Thanks for all of the input guys. I guess it's safe to say that my '82 Custom didn't originally come in this case! It's a great case actually. It's very light and the guitar fits snuggly inside it's purple interior. Thanks again!
Abaddon
I have a 76 grabber with the same colour. I think the 82's came in those hard plastic cases.
ZuWa
I agree. I've only seen early 80's guitars in those "protector" cases too. This looks like an early 70's case, one with only four latches.
