saturn Posted January 15, 2012 Posted January 15, 2012 Two wild games yesterday. One a nail biter, the other a blowout. I guess Tebow Mania has ended . Hopefully my Ravens don't lay an egg today, which they are known to do sometimes. Probably won't do that at home though.
L5Larry Posted January 15, 2012 Posted January 15, 2012 Playoffs? Yeah right, I'm from St. Louis! This same statement usually applies to any NFL or NHL playoff discussions. But, our St. Louis Cardinals are baseball's 2011 World Series Champions. This is, and always will be, a baseball town. Our other pro sports teams are just to keep the baseballs fans occupied during the off-season.
feldkeen4 Posted January 15, 2012 Posted January 15, 2012 My Packers are in for a tough road. If they make it past the Giants, the Niners are next. A very tough road.
Sinner 13 Posted January 15, 2012 Posted January 15, 2012 I guess Tebow Mania has ended . Yeah I haven't seen that much fuss over a White Bronco since the cops chased OJ.... [lol]

EVOL! Posted January 15, 2012 Posted January 15, 2012 The Liedowns, while may not have won last week against the Saints, did get a lot of non calls against them. Not much of a football fan, but I know that holding the opposing player by the collar of his pads is a penalty. Not that I am bitter...
grampa Posted January 15, 2012 Posted January 15, 2012 Saw the Niners game while at practice on the singers huge flat screen. I actually hoped Saints would have won yet too many mistakes on their behalf. The Saints beat themselves last night; not the Niners. Not totally true. The 'Niner defense created some of the turnovers by goimg after the ball. Their defense is great and the offense came through when needed. That game reminded me of some of the Montana Era teams. The Ravens are looking good which opens the possibilty of Super HarBowl. GO NINERS!!
rocketman Posted January 15, 2012 Posted January 15, 2012 Well the Ravens did it. I used to live in Baltimore so I guess that's good news. The bad news is that I'm still a Bills' fan and we now have the "honor" of having the longest playoff drought in the league (12 years).
saturn Posted January 15, 2012 Author Posted January 15, 2012 I knew the Texans would be tough, but man I was surprised at how good their offensive and defensive line was. That was a squeaker for the Ravens.
EVOL! Posted January 16, 2012 Posted January 16, 2012 penguins one thats all i care about I like your style, brother. Let's talk about a more interesting sport.
Bassilisk Posted January 16, 2012 Posted January 16, 2012 Well it seems the Giants didn't read all the hype about the Packers averaging 35 points a game. I have nothing to add.....

rocketman Posted January 16, 2012 Posted January 16, 2012 penguins one thats all i care about Sabres for me, but unfortunately they are looking like the Bills too. Still, we have the highest TV rating in the country for hockey (sorry Detroit but Buffalo is the true Hockey Town). The main network that carries the Sabres game is in a huge battle with the biggest cable provider and the games have been pulled. Fans are not happy here at all..
grampa Posted January 16, 2012 Posted January 16, 2012 "ROGERS,,,,discount double choke" Funny. Very funny. I've seen that ad a couple of times since the game and they're funny now.
saturn Posted January 16, 2012 Author Posted January 16, 2012 Like someone else pointed out to me, that joke is kinda unfair. Rogers can't be blamed for Green Bay's loss. But, it is still funny isn't it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j9Rv7czl9cU

The main network that carries the Sabres game is in a huge battle with the biggest cable provider and the games have been pulled. Fans are not happy here at all.. Don't get me wrong; Buffalo is a great American hockey city, but Detroit *is* Hockeytown, USA. Until the Sabres win 11 Stanley Cups or can brag that names like Gordie Howe, Terry Sawchuck, or Steve Yzerman have worn their sweater, you have no bragging rights.

All true but I think a real fan watches their team even when they are terrible (like mine was tonight against Detroit!). For us to have the highest TV hockey rating and not have done anything close to what Detroit has done just proves my point.
cookieman15061 Posted January 17, 2012 Posted January 17, 2012 We have 6 STICKY LOMBARDI'S so until we build a bigger case we decided to take this year off.
