daft question time again, i am goona change strings again on my sj100 to 12 light from 12 meds . and the daft question is whats the diffrence

will they be quieter, easier to play etc etc

You shouldn't notice a thing, but if you're talking about a vintage model from the 30's/40's, I'd go down to 11's. Your fingers as well as the guitar's neck and bridge will thank you. I use med/lt DR Sunbeams or Rares on all my senior instruments to fend off neck resets.

no its new on here someone said they leave the factory with 12 lights and i have been disapointed since i changed the original ones that came with it

They will, more than likely, be easier to play. Will you notice a difference in tone .... probably. The thing to do is try several different brands and several different sizes over time. Try both coated and non-coated. You will discover one you like best for playability, long life, and tone (the most important factor).

Those 2 sets are equivalent. Acoustic 12s (12-52, 12-53, 12-54) are usually referred to as "light gauge" The tiny differences in the gauge of some of the lower strings is insignificant.
