BluesKing777
Nothing to do with anything here, but I have been fiddling with lap style slide guitar for a while (longer than I sound like, well, a lot longer) on my Epiphone Blues King copy EL-00. The very best lessons I have watched is the 2 dvd set from Bob Brozman that I saw at a guitar shop and bought the other week. 20 or so years of practice should cover it, thanks Bob. Another one I got, and I won't say the name but he is pretty well known in lappy circles, is the absolute most wonderful sleeping pill I have ever had! I had an incredible sleep through lap steel style major scales, arpeggios and drone, drone....zzzzz.....zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz......zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz........zzzzzzzzzzz Bang!!! Bang!!! Boom!!! (dvd finished and gangster movie on full blast scare a few of my nine). Just trying to say that a great player may not be the best lesson presenter! There are lots of dvd's featuring the 'stars'. BluesKing777.
MissouriPicker
If you're talking about a lap steel/dobro, six strings, you might check Troy's Dobro Lessons on the internet. He has a real user-friendly style and makes himself available for questions. Very reasonable prices. You get a lot in a lesson. Plus, he is a very accomplished player. Jon S.
Thanks for the recommendations!! I picked up a lap steel last month, and have been messing with it(I wouldn't consider what I'm doing "playing" just yet). It's a blast. I found a lot of good info here, http://www.well.com/~wellvis/steel.html .
