Lungimsam
When I was a kid, I had a small Peavy Backstage amp. There was a flood in the dorm. Soggy carpet. I was holding the guitar, in contact with the strings, feet on the floor, and reached over to adjust the switch on a box fan - zappo!

Guest farnsbarns
here it is Oh god, More junk. Just be careful, CRT TV's are even more dangerous than amps. You can get hit with 22,000vdc from any point between the LOPT and it's connection to the tube. I'm not even going to tell you how to discharge it because your seem a bit TV obsessed and it's very dangerous. I got a shock from one once (actually a computer monitor) and that was under controlled workshop conditions and I am/was a qualified service engineer. Burned myself and scrambled my brain for about 48 hours.
kaleb
Shock Me! Are ya down to the bare wire? We're all Rock Soldiers ain't we!!![biggrin][thumbup] I love Ace humor. Even the emoticons look like Ace. Make a pun or joke, then laugh hilariously at myself, then give the the thumbs up sign. Ha. Strange ways, strange ways.... EVOL!
Those little zaps are annoying. Know what is the worst? Getting zapped on the lips by a mic because either your amp or the PA isn't grounded. On par with taking a wire brush to the chops.
bonzoboy
If you keep on bringing home junkyard finds you may not only be bringing the ever increasing chance getting the mother of all electrical jolts but you maybe bringing in an appliance that was recalled for being a firehazard and was disguarded or more simply had become a home for roaches, silverfish,Hepatitis, snakes, rodents and God knows what else, either way you may be bringing in a Trojan horse of maladies.BTW I can't say that I find the pix of junked televisions and the like very enticing.
