OK.... I'll play................ (I love showing photos of these babies!!!)

Here are my three current acoustics (However the Custom built guitar on the left is in the middle of a potential trade for the Gibson Hollow Body shown below the first photo) Left to right is a very nice Handbuilt guitar by Jeremy Anderson (Legato Lutherie) in Minnesota. It is a 2006 built Bear Claw Sitka/Eastern Black Walnut Dreadnaugh. The Middle is my 1993 Taylor 612C and on the right is my 2005 Gibson Advanced Jumbo. Pictured below that is what I am auditioning until Sunday for the potential trade on the Legato... A 1960 Gibson ES 125TC. Hopefully the guy who is looking at the Legato likes it as much as I like the old Gibson and the trade goes as planned on Sunday. (We gave each other a week to play, check out and make sure we both agree on the deal.) I know it's not a "True" acoustic but the reason I like it so much is it plays just like an acoustic for fingerstyle and yet can scream with the original P90 pickup in it too.

So, why did you make the deal with your hand made guitar when you have a perfectly good Trader, oops, I mean Taylor so close at hand?

(you know I am just teasing you)

Because, the Taylor was purchased the year my daughter was born and I have promised her that it will be her's someday. Besides, between the Taylor and the Gibson AJ, there is nothing I can't do. Both have such different tone and appeal. The one thing they have in common is the great playability. (I did need to have my favorite luthier tweak the Gibson when I first got it, but now it plays as nicely as the Taylor does.) The Hand built guitar is wonderful too but who needs 2 dreads. Besides, it sounded a lot like my Taylor and I prefer smaller body guitars. I do have to say that the AJ doesn't "feel" like a Dread.... maybe it is the sloped shoulders but it just feels better to me than most Dreads. (Your's looks nice too... same year as mine! Wonder if they were on the same production line?)

I like that your girl with get your Taylor - nice story. I have three nephews and I basically give them goals with their playing. Each of them has an inheritance list and they get a better guitar as their skill improves. I hope they will get my best guitars, but I wish that because they will be good players if they get to that stage.

It would be neat to see how close our guitars are in production date.

Mine is December 19th, 2005

Yah....nothing new here, but heck....let's make this an epic guitar pr0n thread. I would love to see this go 12 pages of pics to drool over!

I need to get a new pic of the Les Paul as I have since added new open pick ups and changed the plastic to black....it looks totally different.

Funny you should say that since my Taylor will now be my cabin and travel guitar. After the bug spray incident with my Gibson AJ (Dang nitro finish!) this summer when I took it to our cabin' date=' I now have it buffed back to a nice gloss. Taylors UV finish that was put on my Taylor a few years ago when I had them refinish it at the factory is bullet proof and Deet can't harm it like the nitro on my Gibby!

I hope GillianGirl also got her's buffed back to normal.... [img']http://forum.gibson.com/public/style_emoticons/default/eusa_pray.gif[/img]

There - wot a thing! posted the above' date=' and all pics have now appeared in all their glory! I hate half baked technology, so unlike all these beautiful guitars.

Edit - oops - some are gone again ;) [/quote']

I'm a PC and I HATE VISTA!!! (That is what I have on my home computer) sometimes it works and most of the time it doesn't. At work where I have Windows but not Vista... one refresh and the photos are always normal after only seeing the tiny ones. I only have that problem on this forum..... But since I love this place, I don't let it bug me TOO much.

I still get this irritating 'can only see tiny pics' syndrome - if I click back' date=' and forward again, some appear - but only some. I suspect Vista related, and its VERY frustrating! Did anyone have any other fixes for this malady?

Roger[/quote']

I get that all the time. Might be IE related. If you have Internet Explorer click the "refresh" button. The double green arrowed icon next to the address bar. That usually makes 'em pop.

Tommy K....have you ever considered' date=' that those might not be both of AJ's feet......I know this may start a BIG controversy, lol, but it is worth the inquirey....lol[/quote']

Well... who else's foot would that be?

I see why you're concerned. It is possible that they don't match but my mother always told me it was unlucky to change a sock, once dressed, if you discover a mismatch. Some kind of Irish superstition.

You'll be pleased to learn that the current Mrs AJ has bought 7 pairs of new socks. Each pair has its own matching stripy motif at the heel and toe so even in the gloom of early morning, I'll be able to spot a matching pair. Damn clever idea! At least I wasn't wearing her slippers this time.

And to answer your question, I do dress myself........................fairly often.

Darn clever idea, indeed.

I usually try to purchase 7 - 8 pairs of identical socks at once, then dispensing with the rest. It saves time at sock foldin' time too.
