rexus31
Hello! I have been recruited by my father to help sell one of his guitars. Either of us know much except for it is a 1984 Gibson Chet Atkins CE nylon string Acoustic/Electric. The guitar is in mint condition; my father takes very, very good care of his guitars. Can anyone steer my in the direction of what it is worth? I tried doing some research online but non are for sale. I was able to source one that sold in 2007 for $1,725 that was in similar condition to my dad's. Is that about right or have these appreciated in value? Some photos are below. Thanks in advance for your help!
slimt
1200 to 1600.00 .. I believe new those were about 1800.00 .. The best place to get a Proper replacement value would be Gbase.com for comparison..
pfox14
I would also put it in the $1500 range considering it's in nice condition.
BobB
You could contact a vintage dealer like www.gruhn.com to arrange an appraisal. That way you have documentation for insurance or if you ever decide to offer it for sale.
Versatile
If the intention is to sell, the usual processes apply... Mint condition guitar...niche market, as it is a mostly 'solid' with bridge piezo Therefore in a different arena to hollow electro acoustics For those seduced by the Chet Atkins moniker.. Perhaps e-Bay with a $1200 reserve.... V
