Rocky4
This is my multi guitar rack project made from plans I found online. http://eledar.net/Music/GuitarStand/index.htm It only cost $12 bucks for the wood, which was a good thing since there is a 1 inch mistake in the plans between the base and the top rack. I used dowel on the bottom supports, but I think when I make the final rack, I'll do it with boards as per the plans.

What are you going to use to cover the parts that make contact with the guitar?

Searcy
Very nice. I would thinking about using cork instead of carpeting to pad it where the guitar touches it. http://www.amazon.com/Board-Dudes-Hobby-Cork-266UA-6/dp/B000HJ70ZM Would just look a little more classy to me. krock
I find that sort of non slick rubbery mat stuff works quite well for covering things in. Ive got it on the bottom of my fish tank and it works pretty well
Guest rogerb
Pretty much the same design that is used at the Gibson plant. It works great for most guitars...Flying V's are a little tricky.

Should make it sturdy plus lighter.

Rocky4
Very nice. I would thinking about using cork instead of carpeting to pad it where the guitar touches it. I'm almost finished with the second one. I might go with cork but was wondering if unfinished wood would hurt the guitar or its finish
surfpup
What about felt? Cheap, soft, and easy to cut and glue in place.

Rocky4
Finished product. Didn't get it as nice as I wanted, but it serves it's purpose. From a distance it looks real good. I went with felt, and added small castors. Notice the mini humbucker on the Daddy Mojo, I plan on posting a video when I record something usable. mikekefr
An upholsterer's advice, call your local canvas shop and ask for some remnants of trunk liner or hull liner carpet<for where the guitars make contact>.It stretches and doesnt have the rough backing house carpet does.Nice work btw. Very similar to the racks used at the Gibson plant just on a smaller scale. Looking good!
