CrazyHeart
I happened to play a vintage J45 recently in New York City that was just so nice (it even needed a neck reset). I was just wondering if anyone who has a 50's J45 would even think of comparing it a newer "true vintage" model. This particular guitar sounded so nice, was in great shape and had this incredible "mojo". My question is if the price of these vintage models are worth it? Thanks for your insight. BigKahune
. I haven't owned a J45, but there are quite a few members over on the Acoustic subforum that have one or more, and the TV model is highly regarded. You should post this over there. pfox14
That depends on the price for the vintage one. Have you played a J-45 TV? How does it compare sound wise & price wise. Personally, I would go for the vintage one every time.
CrazyHeart
Sorry about where I posted this (thought it was posted at the other site). I have played a "True vintage" J45 and to my ears it didn't sound as nice as the one in NYC. I also didn't like how it was made to look artificially vintaged. It seems the prices on the vintage models can be 2 to 3 times the amount.
