onewilyfool
Today's gig was a fun one. On a whim, I did "House of the rising Sun" I havent played this one in years and I was surprised I even remembered all the words....lol.....but it is such a classic, that the words all came back to me, and the song went over BIG....lol.....So the question is this....what songs in your set are winners EVERY time??? Which one(s) can you count on to go over well no matter what. The other day I did "knock, knock, knocking on Heaven's Door" which is a winner EVERY TIME....lol......What are your winners!!??? struma6
Cohens "Hallelujah" seems to be a favored one. "Jersey Girl" is a fair pleaser.

MissouriPicker
You Are My Sunshine, Puff, I Walk the Line, Runaway, Ain't We Got Fun?, other "oldies but goodies" that fit the crowd. Lots of young people know quite-a-bit of Cash, Dylan, The Beatles, Stones, America. I even do old cowboy songs. They work well, especially if I do a harmonica solo in the middle. Good thread. BluesKing777
I usually play acoustic blues and if I do a cover tune because I am in the mood, everyone says do that one again and don't bother with those blues! So taking a hard line to stay out of the trap...no help to you, Wily ...er.. . Skinny Lemon? BluesKing777.
