bluzhammer
I am being told, by an unnamed , never to be revealed source, that Gibson is bringing back the Elitist line of guitars. I have no idea as to the point of origin though.

bluzhammer
Just an FYI, to be on the lookout for, that's all. I've been informed that Gibson has a few surprises in store for 2012. I, for one, will take the wait and see approach.
Cthulhu fhtagn
I've been informed that Gibson has a few surprises in store for 2012. Like fretboards made out of plastic, maybe?
davidl
I wasn't aware of a Gibson Elitist. I know of the Epi Elitist and they are excellent. Made in Japan I believe.
krock
Lots of the elitests were the price of gibsons though
charlie brown
IF ...that's true, it would be a welcome addition (again), to Epiphone's line. What would really be great, is if they are mostly Epiphone's unique original models, and not (just) the Gibson clones! Always wanted an "Elitist" Riviera! But, all those models were beautifully made, were great players, and sounded great, too. CB

Well, seeing as how Epiphone is owned by Gibson, when we connect the dots.......
davidl
Well, seeing as how Epiphone is owned by Gibson, when we connect the dots....... Sorry if I appeared to be picky. That wasn't the intention. I was just referring to the Elitist models falling within the Epi branding and not appearing on the headstock of the Gibsons. djroge1
Yes it would be a welcome back to the Epi line. I love my Elitist Dot. It plays better than any of the local Gibson 335's that were for sale when I was shopping. It is my favorite guitar in my stable (actually it's a tie with my tele); I like the way it plays better than my Gibson Les Paul.
flyingarmadillo
They never completely died - the Casino Elitist was always in the catalog. (and I love mine!)
