Gas
Hello, I am planning to restring my L-200 gibson with 0.13 phosphor bronze nanoweb Elixirs. Is this going to affect the action too much? I am currently using 0.12 Polyweb Elixirs and the sound really good. Thanks a lot in advance. Gas

Buc McMaster
Why do you want 13s? Not happy with 12s, or just experimenting? If the guitar is setup right for 12s now it will require some adjustment to wear 13s properly. Whether or not 13s are "too heavy for the fingers" is up to you. I never tried phosphor bronze strings and/or medium gauge (0.13) so far and i was wondering if any of you have tried such strings. I believe that they will sound great for my recording sessions. 57classic
In the end you may find it is the right way to go but you're introducing 3 new variables at once. 1, going from polyweb to nanoweb. 2, going from 80/20 to phosphor bronze. 3, going from 12's to 13's. Why don't you change only one or two things rather than all three. You may like one or more aspects of the change but not all and you won't necessarily know which you like or not if you do all at once.
