gotomsdos
We know name of J45's pickguard is teardrop. name of Southern Jumbo's is tri-burst ? But most data I can read of OJ/AJ/J35's pickguard is "fire striped celluloid pickguard", with OJ, but celluloid can only refer to the material of it, not shape. Gibson refers to it as "AJ style" pickguard. at least on what I have seen. maybe some else can say more. JC
fp
I've always referred to it as a, 30's Jumbo style pick guard.
Red 333
Stop teasing us like that! By the way, where did the huge eagle above the fireplace come from? Is there a story to it? Red
pfox14
I've always called it the L-00 style PG, because it was first used on the L-00 style guitars in the early 30s before the Jumbos.
tpbiii
By the way, where did the huge eagle above the fireplace come from? Is there a story to it? Alas, we bought it in a junk store. I think this is particularly interesting because you can't really see the eagle in this picture. Here is a better picture with some more pickguards.
