J-1854Me
Danner, Those can be quite nice guitars. That one is a 1994, looks nice. But the price seems a bit, umm, 'optimistic', Not unreasonable, necessarily, but a few hundred high, IMO. Fred
livemusic
I own one like it and two other Gospels! They are all very fine guitars, indeed.
pfox14
You mean it's not a reissue of the 1894 Gospel Dread
Danner
Thanks guys. I'm not in the market for one, but I just thought it was interesting because I had never heard of it. I suppose Gibson has a lot of these special models.
Jinder
I played two original-issue Maple back'n'sides Gospels from '72 and '77 last year, and loved them both. I've only found a handful of Norlin-era acoustics that tickle me, but those two were both stupendous instruments. Arched back, no back bracing, huge raw rumble in the low end, piano-like mids and bells all the way at the top end. Glorious...I'd have bought both if I'd had the funds. I've never played the Hog reissues, but I've heard very good things. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe they're similar in timbre to a Hummingbird but with longer scale and more volume courtesy of the arched unbraced back. DogsPart2
I had one of the 94's, found it NOS in 96 and paid $800. A great guitar, wish I still had it.
