bfpirogas
Hi! I finally found a site that sells the epiphone masterbilt hard/soft case! The thing is that I don't know if there are many of them! The case i found is "EMBADCS" (http://www.sweetwater.com/images/closeup/xl/1600-EMBADCS_outside.jpg), but in the epiphone catalog (http://www.rudymusic.be/pdf/general/rudy_music_catalogue_general_2011_epiphone.pdf ) (which listed every epi with it's appropriate case) the case for my epi (EF 500 RCCE Masterbilt ) should be "EMBENCS". I can't even find pictures of this EMBENCS case on the internet! Does it really matter? I mean, this should be a case for masterbilts, right? Will it fit? Please help me! It's been more than a year that I've been searching for an epi case for my guitar and I don't want to miss this chance!!!

bfpirogas
This post should help you http://forum.gibson.com/index.php?/topic/74500-epiphone-cases/page__gopid__1014953 EF-500RCCE (Fingerstyle) 940-EL0CS http://www2.epiphone.com/cases/ recent ^^ link from the hompage I thought this was the one too, but take a look at this post http://forum.gibson.com/index.php?/topic/69474-masterbilt-case/ I really like the EL0CS case but i'm afraid that it would not be the one, pa4theking bought it and said it was not good... Any ideas? Also, besides EL0CS, the case mentioned above, EMBADCS, would it be good for my guitar?
bfpirogas
I don't know my friend, but isn't it also strange that pa4theking actually bought it and said it to be wrong? And also only registered to this forum just that he could find a solution to his not-fitting-case-problem? Also, please check that the EL0CS is also supposed to fit to the EL-00 guitar. Do you think it's reasonable EF500RCCE ( http://www.epiphone.com/Products/Masterbilt/Masterbilt-EF-500RCCE.aspx ) to fit the same as EL-00( http://www.epiphone.com/Products/Acoustic/EL-00.aspx )? EL-00 is smaller! Shouldn't it fit the same way as, for example, EF500RA ( http://www.epiphone.com/Products/Masterbilt/Masterbilt-EF-500RA.aspx ) which fits 940-EDREAD? Could it be possible they made a mistake?
bfpirogas
A little more help in here please..? I could really use it... Is it actually logical EF 500RCCE to have the same case with EL-00 instead of having the case of another EF model? And does anyone know if EMBADCS that i found from an e-shop at my country fits? I found out that it was the official case for all AJ and DR Masterbilt models, except of the EF models that had the EMBENCS case. But this year's catalogue have all (every single one of them) masterbilt models with the same case(EDREAD), except the EF 500 RCCE(EL0CS)!!!!! How could then (2007) have all the same dimensions and this year EF 500RCCE has the EL-00's size??? I just have to be sure and not buy a case I don't need... Every help is deeply appreciated... may1620
anyone? Hi, Would you benefit from some precise measurements of interior dimensions of an EMBADCS case? I have one being shipped to me this week.
bfpirogas
yes, of course, and thanks for the reply! what guitar do you have?
Aoresteen
I do not trust any on-line measurements. Take your guitar to a store (GC, Sam Ash, etc) and see what they have in stock. If you find one that fits, buy it and be done with it. I can't tell you how many times a sales person tells me that this case will fit and when I try it, it doesn't. A few weeks ago I was in a GC looking for a case for my 1975 FT-165. After taking down about 7 cases (she had to use a ladder to get to them) the sales person said 'we don't have any that fit'. I looked up at a stack of cases at the end and said what about those? 'Na, they won't fit'. I told her to humour me and drag one down. She did and guess what? It fit like a glove. Hardshell Roardrunner case $80. I bought it. Try before you buy.
may1620
yes, of course, and thanks for the reply! what guitar do you have? I ordered the EMBADCS for an IB Texan. I think the crazy expensive Macca package had a similar Masterbilt case. The Texan is also not in my hands yet, as the first one arrive crushed. I put my EJ-160E in the standard EDREAD case, and that's a good fit. Just wanted something different (but still Epi issue) for the Texan. OK, the case has arrived, and I could measure it for you. However, nowhere on it does it say anything about EMBADCS. There are 2 stickers and a warranty card listing the guitar originally associated with it, which was a DR 500M, date 2006. The case I bought new but dusty and on clearance, from a far off GC store. Probably been sitting around for 5 years or so. The old catalogs I think do indicate that the DR 500M included an EMBADCS case, however.

may1620
Here are the dimensions of my guitar! Do you think it fits??? If a dimension is missing tell me so, but i think i covered everythink! :P Nice picture! If only the online vendors would send me case dimensions like this, I'd be all set. Let me just go through and match up case measurements with yours. I will be conservative. Dimension - Your Guitar - My Case Length - 102 -107 Body Length - 48 - 51 Lower Bout - 39 - 39.5 Waist - 24.5 - 29 Upper Bout - 29 - 30.5 Your neck widths look fine. Now, you didn't list depth, but the floor of the case is about 9.5 deep, and add another 2.5 or 3 in the cover. Plus a bit of a cut-out for the saddle, maybe 0.5. I'd be a little concerned about your barndoor electronics dimension. My case has no cutout there, though you definitely have some leeway at the waist. I guess with it being 1.4 and you still have 1.5 even at the upper bout, you'll be OK. Let me also give you the headstock area width of about 12.5 (end) to 14 (down near nut). This area and the overall length are the primary reasons that my EJ-160E does not fit this case. The tuners really stick out on that one. Remains to be seen if the Texan will fit it. It only has one fret length less than the EJ-160E, so I fear it will be very tight at best. Does that help?
bfpirogas
Thanks a lot! You've really been very helpful!!! What do you think I should do? Does it seem a little too big for my guitar, or isn't it a problem? (Also, you were measuring the inside dimensions, right? Just checking! ) Is there also an 940-EL0CS case-user to help me by providing his dimensions?

may1620
anyone please? Hopefully you'll get some help on that other case. I think there is a bit more than average extra space between my case and your guitar, but probably not enough to be a big issue. I finally received my IB Texan last night, and it looks and plays beautifully. It does fit the Masterbilt case I measured above, but fairly snuggly!
