Bliggick Posted February 7, 2012 Posted February 7, 2012 I got serious GAS when I heard about the 50th Anniversary Pete Townshend SG and I ordered one from a west coast Long & McQuade in Canada way back in August. I'm still waiting. The guy at the store said by their records only 1 ever showed up in Canada on the east coast quite a few months ago. Did they stop making them because they couldn't spare the rosewood? I'm afraid I'll never get one because it's only an Anniversary model and will end it's production run after 1 year.
DiamondJig Posted February 7, 2012 Posted February 7, 2012 MF still has them http://www.musiciansfriend.com/guitars/gibson-50th-anniversary-pete-townshend-sg-electric-guitar/h71167000001000 and maybe GC too
pfox14 Posted February 8, 2012 Posted February 8, 2012 Here's one on eBay - http://www.ebay.com/itm/2011-Gibson-50th-Anniversary-Pete-Townshend-SG-Electric-Guitar-Classic-White-/220939171192?pt=Guitar&hash=item3371003578
Bliggick Posted April 24, 2012 Author Posted April 24, 2012 I finally got it last week! Perfect right out of the box! There's one more hanging on the wall in L & M, Vancouver. Looks like they were able to stick to rosewood and not resort to baked maple. Will try to get pics up soon.
RowdyMoon Posted April 24, 2012 Posted April 24, 2012 I have one myself, great guitar.....only 600 made I have heard.
