I noticed this fake SG style guitar with a custom paint job today in Bendigo, Victoria, Australia. It has the three screw truss rod cover with Gibson written on it and it also has no serial number printed on the back, and im sure you could find many other clear pointers, i only had a quick scan over it. Just thought i would do my part to help point out fakes.

none the less it is in fairly ordinary condition anyway, so just be careful.

Just so you know, not all 3 screw truss rod covers are fake gibby's. Ive seen a real 1973-'75 Gibson Heritage Custom with 3 screws and it was definitely genuine. But yeah, its always good to make sure people stay on the lookout for fake's.

I am 99% sure that that is one of those Epiphone specials. Eye the control layout.

This. Epiphone special SG, most lower end epis have Gibson writen in the TRC.

Did you take that picture while at a full gallop?

He might have been using a potato...

As has been said, looks to be an epiphone to me.

as i said, it has no serial number on the back, and with the photo, i wasnt really going for a photo shoot look, more of a quick snap to show people what it looks like.
