Okay, fine -- after that collection we'll all look puny, but life is what you make it.

I had a nice Korean Sheraton and sold it years ago. I have a Korean Dot with VintageVibe Charlie Christian pickups, a Korean Limited Edition LP Standard (gold sparkletop and Bisgby), and a controversial Genesis bass (from who knows when, made who knows where -- no reply from Gibson, yet). They're all good, and I sure wish I had a Casino or Riviera.....

I did a lot of buying and selling when I was at University. Sometimes selling one guitar only to buy a very similar one when I had the money again or snapping up bargains and selling them on when the time was right. Most of them just sat about the house unfortunately becuase my Casino has always been my number 1 but played the dot deluxe for a year when my casino was stolen. Often the other guitarist in my band would play one of my electrics that was sitting about spare.

I would love to see a dot with CC pickups!

There are definitely members on here that have collections that eclipse my low budget history. Red333's elitists come to mind... [thumbup]

I don't own any Epiphones currently--with all the guitars I've had in the last 50 years (jeez, I'm getting to be an old dude!), only one's been an Epiphone. In late '73 I bought an Gibson-made Epiphone Broadway from the original owner, who said he bought it new in '61 or '62. Natural finish, two mini-humbuckers, rosewood bridge and fingerboard. Somebody had done some minor mods on it at some point, as it had gold Schaller tuners on it--the originals would have been tulip-button nickel Klusons--and the neck pickup had been turned around; the two-pickup combination was out of phase! Which was kind of cool, as I could get varying degrees of "out-of-phase-ness" by adjusting the relative levels with the volume controls, but I'd have liked to have had the normal in-phase setting too. In '74 I traded it and $150 for a '59 Telecaster. Somewhere I've actually got a pic of the Epi--I was in a band called Cut 'N' Strut from '73 through about mid-'75, and I had it in our promo shot. If I can find it, I'll try to figure out how to post it.

I'm getting a 325c58 MG in May with all the Lennon mods and I've got my eye on a Les Paul Jr Lennon project and a Fool J-160e but I also want to convert my Epi EJ-160e into a Gibson lookalike with a headstock reshape and a refinish to match John's 2nd Jumbo. The J-160e I've got is great for the early sound but doesn't hold up as well for the Help/Rubber Soul period stuff when the acoustics sound more acousticy.

How many Epiphones have you owned?

Two ... '99 AJ18SNA aooustic and a '07 Honeyburst LP Std+top

And how many do you own now.

Two ...same as above :)

Wellllllll, ........perhaps I could say 5, as the post title question is worded as "Epiphones" ...have 3 Epi amps as well - a crappy lil 15w ss amp w/ 6" speaker, a Valve Jr combo (version one, complete with hum and buzz they're known for....too lazy to rectify it, as it gives me a warm fuzzy feeling harkening back to my youth, growing up learning on a buzzy old Ampeg 5 watt tuber), and a V Jr head and cab (final version). ;)

I'm pleased with my humble collection (have one other electric, w/ single coils)...pleased with my Epis - they are what they are. My acoustic is interesting looking...it's a natural finish, has been out on a stand for most of it's life, and late last year the glue holding the pickguard started giving up the ghost...so I peeled it off, cleaned the residue off, and MAN, has the natural finish gotten darker over the years - where the guard was is now a patch of perfectly guard-shaped original color finish....I call it the ghost guard look...heh..I like it enough to not even consider putting another on :) Yeah, yeah, pics ..... perhaps I could get some one of these days when I remember to get the camera outta Mrs Fuelish's purse (dunno why she carries it around with her constantly, usually w/ a ded battery.....dames, go figure :) )

Like this, although it's not a real good photo. Pete (VintageVibe) made them to fit into HB slots, with the consultation help of Deaf-Eddie. Otherwise, they wouldn't fit many guitars, I guess.

Aside from the current four in my signature, I've owned three Sheraton IIs, a Dot, and a Kalamazoo built Cortez (purchased in the '70s), which was a clone of the Gibson B25. Lots of good stuff coming out these days, in particular the models with Gibson pickups!

I think about six..........With a MUST HAVE Epi list of at least eight more............[thumbup] [thumbup] [thumbup] .....

LOL...I wouldn't mind a few more different Epis, but my "must have" list consists of the Wildkat - played one a couple times, and have wanted it badly ever since....unfortunately, going back to school precludes any major gear purchases for a couple of years, here... :(
