don't be worrying about this wily , the average length is greatly exagerated in todays society .

and besides its more to do with how you use your fingers that make the difference

there are people who find the larger ones too big to handle and will love your size

In any case, size matters more in terms of girth than length.

It is a very beautiful guitar whereof you speak, Wily.

Oh, and Paul, that is an intriguing piece of information - I'd naively assumed that SL was precisely measured from nut to saddle. Can you say more, please?

Did you measure from the nut to the 12th fret and multiply by 2? Measuring from the nut to the saddle will not give you an accurate SL.

Plus, Bozeman's so-called 24-3/4" scale is actually only 24-5/8", and has been since 1992. (Nashville's is an even shorter 24-9/16", which was also the late-'50s length) The last time Gibson's 24-3/4" scale was a full 24-3/4" was 1954. So, if nut to 12th fret on your L-20 is 12-5/16", you have a perfectly normal short scale.

Thanks Bob....it is actually 24 5/8" on remeasure....by measuring to 12th fret and doubling...so all is well!!!
