heymisterk Posted February 8, 2012 Posted February 8, 2012 Indeed I am. No complaints, considering when I was last in a relationship during V-Day, I was pretty damn miserable. So if you won't be giving/getting a card, giving/getting gifts, giving/getting a romantic dinner, giving/getting _______________... ...If you won't be doing those things, what will you be doing? And how do you feel about it? Sometimes I am and sometimes I am :(
Rabs Posted February 8, 2012 Posted February 8, 2012 Valentines day is just a marketing campaign to sell stuff to people that they dont really need... thats what I think of it so to me its just a normal day..
Work in Progress Posted February 8, 2012 Posted February 8, 2012 Valentines day is just a marketing campaign to sell stuff to people that they dont really need... thats what I think of it so to me its just a normal day.. So is a holiday/weekend sale at any music store... :P
Stooge Posted February 8, 2012 Posted February 8, 2012 Valentines day is just a marketing campaign to sell stuff to people that they dont really need... thats what I think of it so to me its just a normal day.. +1 Me and my wife are romantic throughout the year, without being told to act and behave lovingly on a certain day. The only people who gain out of St Valentines day, are those that own florists and print greetings cards imo.
lespaulj45 Posted February 8, 2012 Posted February 8, 2012 I listen to all my old Ruth Brown and Billie Holliday records and tapes-and then I celebrate my bachelorhood!
heymisterk Posted February 8, 2012 Author Posted February 8, 2012 I listen to all my old Ruth Brown and Billie Holliday records and tapes-and then I celebrate my bachelorhood! That's a nice idea. I also will sometimes consider how many people I know are married and miserable. I am not happy that they are in unhappy relationships, but I do take solace in the fact that lots of people celebrate Valentine's Day even though they wish they didn't have to.
TarHeelKid Posted February 8, 2012 Posted February 8, 2012 If I were single, I would celebrate all the extra $ I would have, and go buy a new Gibson Midtown Custom and make sweet finger love to her! Question is, which one??
Stooge Posted February 8, 2012 Posted February 8, 2012 If I were single, I would celebrate all the extra $ I would have, and go buy a new Gibson Midtown Custom and make sweet finger love to her! :o
rockman82 Posted February 8, 2012 Posted February 8, 2012 Since I'm single and broke, I don't have to spend Valentine's Day.
Stooge Posted February 8, 2012 Posted February 8, 2012 If I were single, I would celebrate all the extra $ I would have, and go buy a new Gibson Midtown Custom and make sweet finger love to her! Question is, which one?? Personally I'd go for one of these ;) :
TarHeelKid Posted February 8, 2012 Posted February 8, 2012 Personally I'd go for one of these: PUURRRTTTYYYY!!!
krock Posted February 8, 2012 Posted February 8, 2012 I would say crying myself to sleep but that's blatantly a lie. I love being single
Stooge Posted February 8, 2012 Posted February 8, 2012 PUURRRTTTYYYY!!! That's where all my spare money is going at the moment. My wife is unaware of this of course LMAO!
cabba2203 Posted February 8, 2012 Posted February 8, 2012 Porn + Left Hand (the stranger) = V-Day bliss.
Stooge Posted February 8, 2012 Posted February 8, 2012 Porn + Left Hand (the stranger) = V-Day bliss. LMAO!!!
heymisterk Posted February 8, 2012 Author Posted February 8, 2012 Porn + Left Hand (the stranger) = V-Day bliss. A couple of years ago, when this site wasn't so "monitored," there was a survey posted about who watched porn...it was, ahem, revealing...
cavsrock08 Posted February 8, 2012 Posted February 8, 2012 I basically refuse to believe that the holiday exists. For the past 3 V-days I was with the same girl but only gave her like a small gift or something. To me the whole thing is a joke. Now that we are broken up, I have nothing to worry about it. [thumbup] I plan on spending the night learning the Green Day song "Cigarettes and valentines."
FredD Posted February 8, 2012 Posted February 8, 2012 Probably watching an old CRT television. (see post elsewhere in lounge)..
rct Posted February 8, 2012 Posted February 8, 2012 It's a good clutch holiday. I've been married for 32 years this year, and we dated a few years before that. I've missed way too many New Years being out with bands, and our anniversary coincided with Philly guitar show quite a few times. But I've never had to play on Valentines day, so it became ours. We still go out to dinner, someplace nice where you don't talk to a clown about the size of yer fries. I'm sure you kids can't imagine such a thing. rct
Kyler Patrick Posted February 8, 2012 Posted February 8, 2012 If I were single, I would celebrate all the extra $ I would have, and go buy a new Gibson Midtown Custom and make sweet finger love to her! Question is, which one?? I'd go for the first one. Looks sweet!
surfpup Posted February 8, 2012 Posted February 8, 2012 Porn + Left Hand (the stranger) = V-Day bliss. Totally beat me to it! I was gonna suggest a little Jackson Browne... But Rosie you're all right -- you wear my ring When you hold me tight -- Rosie that's my thing When you turn out the light -- I've got to hand it to me Looks like its me and you again tonight, Rosie.
Buxom Posted February 9, 2012 Posted February 9, 2012 But in reality, I may write. I've been chasing after the same girl for a year and a half. Every time we got close enough, something circumstantial would happen (her dad being a **** from 2,000 miles away, me being an idiot, my work schedule making me cancel on her) I'm probably taking her to see a movie, get dinner, and play some mini golf. I'm not giving up that easily haha.
FenderGuy1 Posted February 10, 2012 Posted February 10, 2012 im gonna play the star spangled banner through my Slash Sounding Marshall killing home stereo! and maybe watch tv
