Epiphone Tribute Plus $599: is this a deal or standard price?

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone,

I found the Epiphone Tribute Plus les paul at Amazon for $599: http://www.amazon.com/Epiphone-Tribute-Guitar-Vintage-Sunburst/dp/B004MKMABG/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1328828486&sr=8-2

I cant seem to find it at any of the other major music instrument retailers in the US (guitar Center, Musicians Friend, sweetwater, etc)

Is this a deal or standard pricing for the Tribute Plus? Also, does the Tribute Plus have the same style satin neck as the Ultra-III? I played one of those and LOVE the feel, it just buzzed like crazy!! :)

LGK_Dude,

I did a modest amount of checking. Amazon "says" temp - out.

The few I see are Tributes.

How much difference between the Tribute and the Tribute Plus?

Most of the ones I see for sale are in Europe right now.

Hope other are more help.

Willy

Edit:

Is this an example of the style you enjoy or is this you?

I write Progressive Rock (example below)

Edit, Edit:...LOL

That's a different guitar...

The Tribute Plus hasn't been made available yet on any North American sites, though I think a couple UK/Europe sites have them listed...

You must type faster than I do!

Thats me, though the guitar playing was done with this: http://usa.yamaha.com/products/music-production/midi-controllers/wx5/

So Musicians Friend is selling it for $799?! Do you think thats a typo, or is that the normal price? Amazon shows the List as $999, while Musicians Friend shows it as $1332. Wonder who is correct?

I know that MSRP has little to do with actual selling price...but...

The Gibson website list the MSRP at $1332 for the Tribute Plus. It is on page one:

http://www2.gibson.com/Products/Electric-Guitars/Les-Paul/Epiphone.aspx?Page=1

It also shows a "Tribute" Les Paul Standard on page two at the same MSRP.

BTW. My compliments on your music....very professional.

Thanks for the compliments on the music Willy! Thats actually still a "demo mix" of one of our unfinished songs, and that you found it professional makes me very happy, as it took a LOT of work to even get it in that "presentable" stage. Must mean it translated ok. :-) Thank you very much for taking the time to listen and comment!

Also thank you for finding the MSRP. I do know it has little to do with the final pricing, but that might explain why Amazon lowered the price, because they have the wrong MSRP? Also interesting how Gibson website shows the MSRP, but Epiphone's does not. I wouldn't have thought to look at Gibson's site for the price! Thanks!

I guess I'll get the axe from Amazon and cancel if I see a better price before it ships. The only way that would happen is if musicians friend indeed has the incorrect price, and changes it to $599, so then their common 15% off coupons would actually lower the price below Amazon by $90. Anyone think that will happen?
