If you're interested in downloading them I've got some detailed instructions below. The models listed on the page are: 2008 Les Paul Standard (Heritage Cherry) SG Standard (Heritage Cherry) Explorer Pro (Ebony) Hummingbird True Vintage Jimmy Page Custom Double Neck Flying V (Ebony) The Traditional Gibson Headstock (with a blue glow around it) The Headstock from the Jimmy Page Signature Les Paul Custom Of course there are more to come, we're working on both more desktop wallpapers and more iPhone/iPod Touch wallpapers, but that's not all. As I've said before, we've got some great ideas for this page, so we're working on getting it filled with all manner of cool downloads. Of course your suggestions so far are greatly appreciated, so I should be saying thanks for some of the great ideas, and keep 'em coming! -Michael Instructions for iPhone/iPod Touch wallpaper download (for iPhone/iPod Touch users): 1. Visit the Extras section of the Lifestyle page using Safari at: http://www.gibson.com/en%2Dus/Lifestyle/Extras/ 2. Select the wallpaper you wish to download by clicking on the thumbnail or the "Download" link. 3. When the full size image appears press down and hold the image for about two seconds until the "Save As" dialogue appears. 4. Select "Save Image" to download the image to your device. 5. Leave Safari to the Springboard and select "Settings". 6. Select the Wallpaper option, and then choose where your image is located on your phone (most likely it will be under "Camera Roll"). 7. You'll have the option to move/scale the image one last time to place it how you'd like it to appear. 8. Select "Set Wallpaper" to finalize the process. 9. Enjoy your new wallpaper, and don't forget to keep checking back for more! Instructions for iPhone/iPod Touch wallpaper download (for computer users): 1. Click on the thumbnail of the wallpaper, or the "Download" link. 2. Right click the full-sized image and select "save as". 3. Save the image to your desktop or other image directory, be sure to remember where you saved it! 4. Connect your device to your PC or Mac via the USB cable. 5. When your iPhone (or iPod Touch) is connected look for it under the "Devices" section on the sidebar in iTunes. 6. After selecting your device, select the Photos tab at the top of the main content block. 7. Check the box next to the words "Sync photos from:". 8. From the drop-down menu, select the location of your wallpapers (if the location is not immediately on the list select "choose folder"). 9. After you have selected the destination where your images are, select the "Apply" button to initiate a sync. 10. After the sync has completed, from the device itself select "Settings". 11. Select the Wallpaper option, and then choose where your image is located on your phone (most likely it will be under "Camera Roll"). 12. You'll have the option to move/scale the image one last time to place it how you'd like it to appear. 13. Select "Set Wallpaper" to finalize the process. 14. Enjoy your new wallpaper, show your friends, play it like an air guitar, or get so excited you download the rest of them.
surfpup Posted October 31, 2008 Posted October 31, 2008 Very cool. Thanks! I have a pic of Hendrix at Monterey Pop as my iPhone wallpaper now, but it's been there awhile. I will try one of yours next.
