What are your favorite rock tune endings?

A day in the life.

I remember as a kid listening with earphones, that felt like two garbage cans on either side of my head and I'd turn the volume knobs up slowly to see how long I could hear that final chord.

Limelight was a good one. I probably would have said that too.

All I can think of now is Jethro Tull "Aqualung" and Pink Floyd "Have a Cigar", the way it goes to mono before zapping out.

Oh yeah, "War Pigs" too B)

My favorite song endings are:

Limelight: Rush, Moving Pictures

Xanadu: Rush, Exit Stage Left (live album)

Comfortably Numb: Pink Floyd, The Wall

Interesting idea...I'd never really thought about "favorite" endings, to a song.

Favorite beginnings, yeah...but, not the endings so much.

This would have to be one (not already mentioned), for both.

(The most famous (opening) chord, in history, and that great "trail off," at the end!) [thumbup]

The fade out solos by Mick Taylor (during his Rolling Stone days) "Sway" and Moonlight Mile" from Sticky Fingers and "Time Waits For No One" from It's Only Rock 'n' Roll.

Rabs got it right with Axis Bold As Love, the flanging and the panning from speaker to speaker-especially with headphones on-is phenominal.I also like the end of Are You Experienced and Foxy Lady,Love or Manic Depression and Love or Confusion also have cool endings.
