L5Larry Posted February 12, 2012 Posted February 12, 2012 Kluson was an American company based out of the early-mid 20th century musical instrument manufacturing mecca of Chicago, Illinois. Today they exist in name only, for there is no longer a "Kluson" company, or factory. I believe the brand name is owned by WD Music Products, and they will contract, or license, various companies to manufacture machine heads under the "Kluson" name, or in the "Kluson" style. The German guitar hardware manufacturer is Schaller. If you have "Kluson" style machine heads that say "Made In Germany", they were made by Schaller. Through the years, Schaller has also made various OEM parts for Gibson such as the "Harmonica" bridge

rar Posted February 12, 2012 Posted February 12, 2012 Yes. Really? I thought Willi and Rudi (DBA Antique Acoustics) had these machined by some random machine shop. I suppose that the random machine shop could be Schaller, but I never heard that it was. -- Bob R

Ren knows Willi Henkes, and I heard that he collaborated on getting these tuners together from Willi. Fred
