moonlander Posted February 14, 2012 Posted February 14, 2012 Hi guys, i'm interested in the differences between the Gibson B-25 and LG-3. Visually, the LG-3 is a natural finished LG-2 from what i understand, but how does they differ from the B-25? Thanks
slimt Posted February 14, 2012 Posted February 14, 2012 Lg2 and Lg3 Guitars are Just better. in tone, feel , sound. .. They did something to the B25 that just killed the tone.. not to mention most have the skinny Neck..
Rambler Posted February 14, 2012 Posted February 14, 2012 Hi guys, i'm interested in the differences between the Gibson B-25 and LG-3.. This is the case of another Gibson re-name, with structural changes common to K'zoo Gibs of the 60s. the early ones with the burst (61-62) were essentially a continuation of the LGs. From 63 on, like all 60s gibs, a, ah, sturdier build (bigger bridgeplate, plywood bridgepalte, thicker braces, thick pg).
BluesKing777 Posted February 14, 2012 Posted February 14, 2012 None of the troubles mentioned above seem to bother Johnny Shines as he extracts the classic Gibson blues sound from his B-25. Not sure if his guitar has the skinny neck or not, but he sure does have fairly porky fingers! BluesKing777.
Rambler Posted February 14, 2012 Posted February 14, 2012 None of the troublesseem to bother Johnny Shines [url= ] [/url That's a guessing 64-66 judging from the relief on the PG (it's thicker), but still with a lot of LG character. Here is Furry Lewis with a B25n (68?. Not as resonant. Moon, this is more like what your were talking about. Caveat: Shines uses picks, Furry, fingers. E
