thevalleygirl Posted February 14, 2012 Posted February 14, 2012 I'm wondering what everyones flavor is. A new discussion that is probably an old one, but I'm curious... I thought I'd put my top 5 in order: 1) I play my 2010 J45 - Brad Paisley Artist Series probably the most, it is easy to handle and sounds gutsy. 2) I think my 2010 Hummingbird 12 has the best sound texture. 3) Martin D Custom, bright tones 4) 1975 Takamine, Trustworthy. 5) 2001 SJ200 is pretty but hard for me to play but very pretty!
Buc McMaster Posted February 14, 2012 Posted February 14, 2012 Easy for me! My one-and-only Hummingbird!
ponty Posted February 14, 2012 Posted February 14, 2012 I always wanted to love Martin the best. I always found that my prefrernce of sound came from a Gibson Mahogany guitar. As such, J-45 would be top of the list. Mine are 93s - close to 20 years. I still have a couple for Martins, M-36 and 000-28 custom. They are great but the 45s are wonderful.

thevalleygirl Posted February 14, 2012 Author Posted February 14, 2012 By request..... My #1 favorite: Any chance of a youtube of you playing that beauty?
zombywoof Posted February 14, 2012 Posted February 14, 2012 I got a bunch of geetars hanging around but don't have a favorite. So how about the two that are getting the most time out of the case as of late. First, that 1956 Epiphone FT-79. Certainly not the best sounding guitar I own although it does have a deep round bass unlike I have ever heard on another guitar. As time goes on I seem to become more infatuated with this guitar. Then there is my 1947 LG-2. I have a 1960 J-200 that gets a whole lot less playing time than this little box. I guess I just take to the sound of the LG and there really is something special about those banner and script logo little guitars.
brixa Posted February 14, 2012 Posted February 14, 2012 2010 gibson j45 standard 2011 rickenbacker 325/6 c64 miami jetglo 2004 martin d28 Constant problem is which one to play first as i love em all!
Markini Posted February 14, 2012 Posted February 14, 2012 Actually I am in agreement with Keith Richards, when asked what his favorite guitar was (and he owns a hundreds), he replied " Whatever guitar I am playing at the time".
double0blues Posted February 14, 2012 Posted February 14, 2012 Easy for me to choose - my Gibson 1937 L-00 Legend...

E-minor7 Posted February 14, 2012 Posted February 14, 2012 Hey Valleygirl – long time no see. Impressive top-5. Have to say I can't put my herd on a ladder. What I've found is that they all create a whole. In a way the knowledge of the others makes me relax about weaker sides of the guitar I'm actually playing - which again makes me go further into the strong sides of that one. "The fact that I'm able to change guitar, makes me stay behind the one I'm playing". E-minor7
