AlanH Posted February 14, 2012 Posted February 14, 2012 Looks very interesting. Even has a 0.1W switch option on the rear and speaker outputs: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8P2OmLNUAvE&feature=player_embedded#! Four more to come over 2012. Can't wait to hear the JCM800m 1W version.
Californiaman Posted February 14, 2012 Posted February 14, 2012 I'd rock one of those. Love to here the JMP model too.
D-poland Posted February 14, 2012 Posted February 14, 2012 coool sounding little amp! it does make me wonder about my 100 watter's .I'am think'in that 0.1 watts on my dial would be off!! 0.1 watts isn't that pre amp voltage? so is this just a preamp with NO power tubes? and could we really hear it without it being miked? It probably will keep the coppers away. and can unaided human hearing be able to actually hear it? ;)
cabba2203 Posted February 14, 2012 Posted February 14, 2012 Damn, I must have the JMP & JCM 1watt heads!!! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mo2TDwMN7Tg
Tim Plains Posted February 14, 2012 Posted February 14, 2012 I can't believe Marshall is charing $750 for those. Thanks, but I'd rather buy two Class 5s.
bluesguitar65 Posted February 14, 2012 Posted February 14, 2012 These are priced at $799 each. I thought these would be about the same ball park price as the Class 5, $399. I'm actually, much more interested in the Fender Exelsior amp for $299 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=93-0FiVb-04

AlanH Posted February 14, 2012 Author Posted February 14, 2012 It is a bit steep for the features and wattage, even if British made. I'd be more comfortable with having a knob to switch between all five versions in one amp for that price. These look ideal for home players like me and could be mic'd up if the tone is good for those who play out. My problem is that we've made a major family purchase and have to tighten our belts for a couple of years while the loan is paid off.
dem00n Posted February 14, 2012 Posted February 14, 2012 You could build your own for so much more cheaper... Easy build to!
AlanH Posted February 14, 2012 Author Posted February 14, 2012 You could build your own for so much more cheaper... Easy build to! Apart from the fact that I'm not the greatest with a soldering iron and would probably electrocute myself in the process.

Twiz Posted February 14, 2012 Posted February 14, 2012 I like 'em, but for that price, I'd save up a little extra $$ and get a hand-wired Vox AC15. Great tones coming from those little monsters though.
RaysEpiphone Posted February 14, 2012 Posted February 14, 2012 I can't believe Marshall is charing $750 for those. Thanks, but I'd rather buy two Class 5s. I love my Class 5, it is the best quality made amp I've ever owned (and I've had many) but..... It has no balls at low volume! I fixed this issue with a Marshall Jackhammer peddle, but there has been a trade-off as the low cost op-amp stomp box colors the sound. Even with my hot custom over-wound double coil pick-up switched on, until I turn it up, it just don't have the crunch that Marshall is so famous for. I still wouldn't want to lose it thou as once you get up there it sing's like no other amp I've owned before. I do admit my Ibanez SA 240 don't do it any real justice (even with the aftermarket pick-up's) but I still think I'm right about the low level sound with most any guitar that you plug into it. Class 5 is a low power version of a Super Lead and I've heard lot's of people with stock Super Leads say that you get little drive with it until it's cranked up loud.
Riffster Posted February 15, 2012 Posted February 15, 2012 Wow, I saw these anniversary models on their website a few weeks ago and was expecting them to be priced like the Class 5, These sound really cool but too pricey for me to buy just for the hell of it since I do not need one,
bonzoboy Posted February 15, 2012 Posted February 15, 2012 $800 for a 1W amp is really steep even a Marshall,I paid much less that for my 50W 4210 JCM 800,albeit slightly used. AS much as I love Marshalls there`d be snowball fights in hell before I`d pay $800 for a 1W amp even if it has the JCM 800 badge on it.I`ll make do with my .1W Marshall MS-4 or my Vox AD120VTH that has a 1W setting and a JCM 800 model.
