FennRx Posted February 15, 2012 Posted February 15, 2012 i bet you could count on 1 hand the number of forum members who even recognize the name, much less his talent.
RaysEpiphone Posted February 15, 2012 Posted February 15, 2012 I can imagine it wasn't easy to play in cold. He's good! Thanks for tuning us on to him!
daveinspain Posted February 15, 2012 Posted February 15, 2012 Saw him play on Huckabee the other night... Amazing bass player...
Searcy Posted February 15, 2012 Posted February 15, 2012 I bought show of hands when it first came out and was amazed. But somewhere along the way it just faded for me. Most of the time when I listen to Vic anymore all I hear is clickity, clickity, click. Technically wonderful, muscly flat. I'd rather hear the master. [thumbup]
69tele Posted February 15, 2012 Posted February 15, 2012 he's amazing, also like Marcus Miller (have his sig bass) and Victor Bailey who I saw and met at a concert a few years back. my review http://www.gear-review.co.uk/reviews/victorbailey/index.html
Morkolo Posted February 15, 2012 Posted February 15, 2012 That brings back some memories, I used to be into Victor Wooten and Bela Fleck back when I was playing bass. The first time I heard Wooten was on the Sinister Minister and after I learned that I got into his other stuff which I wouldn't have 10 seconds patience for these days, U Can't Hold No Groove and Me And My Bass Guitar are definitely fun to play though.
ShredAstaire Posted February 15, 2012 Posted February 15, 2012 The Woot is awesome!! Short bursts though... :)
dem00n Posted February 15, 2012 Posted February 15, 2012 Yup, i have his first solo record. I play it once in a while, very peaceful guy. Only wants to play bass and spread love. Gotta respect that.
jaxson50 Posted February 15, 2012 Author Posted February 15, 2012 How about a little "Grace" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PA-ZKDOoBnk
mikekefr Posted February 15, 2012 Posted February 15, 2012 I saw that amazing grace vid several years ago,hes awesome !!
Gaolee Posted February 16, 2012 Posted February 16, 2012 I had a chance to meet him in person at a local shop earlier this year. I had a conflict and couldn't make it. Talk about unhappy! If I could be even half a Victor Wooten, I would be happy.
Rocky4 Posted February 16, 2012 Posted February 16, 2012 He's coming to our local Summer Camp along with Jane's Addiction and The Tedeschi Trucks band. I might have to suffer through three days of God knows what for this years festival.
