DaveTic Posted February 15, 2012 Posted February 15, 2012 Anyone know what the word "Ceron" on the gold truss rod cover refers to or anything about this guitar. It's a 90's Blueshawk.
pfox14 Posted February 15, 2012 Posted February 15, 2012 Something smells a bit fishy about this guitar
DaveTic Posted February 16, 2012 Author Posted February 16, 2012 I ask about a word written on the truss rod plate and you say something sounds fishy?
rct Posted February 16, 2012 Posted February 16, 2012 I remember those guitars, but that's about it. There's a web page blueshawk.info, he used to have all you'd ever need to know about them guitars. My truss rod covers all have RCT on them, as do the neck plates on my Fedners. Good luck with it. rct
Versatile Posted February 16, 2012 Posted February 16, 2012 It's an anti-histamine Probably for 'Cat Scratch Fever' <_< V
DaveTic Posted February 16, 2012 Author Posted February 16, 2012 Thanks I checked Blueshawlk.info. Nothing that I saw had "Ceron" or a gold truss rod plate so I thought I would ask here.
Reilly81 Posted February 19, 2012 Posted February 19, 2012 My guess would be that it's a player's custom cover to personalize the guitar with their nick name or stage name, make it a little harder to walk off with, or as a marker for the Band he/she was in. The Blues Hawks I've owned over the years all had the plain black covers.

The Blues Hawks I've owned over the years all had the plain black covers. I would guess Reilly's got it. I have two and my friend has three. I've seen lots on eBay and never saw anything like what Dave describes. I'd ignore it an focus on the rest of the guitar. BluesHawks are great axes (and are slowly appreciating). You can always replace the TRCover with a Gibson-correct one. Cheers, Doug
gnappi Posted November 18, 2012 Posted November 18, 2012 BluesHawks are great axes (and are slowly appreciating). You can always replace the TRCover with a Gibson-correct one. Agreed, they are another example of a great guitar ignored by players who can't see beyond the SG / Les Paul style guitars. I bought my BH about 8 years ago and every time I play it I'm always amazed that Gibson stopped making them.
Vestapol Posted November 18, 2012 Posted November 18, 2012 I ask about a word written on the truss rod plate and you say something sounds fishy? Yep. The BluesHawk truss rod covers are the traditional Gibson black bell. No graphics. You have a replaced truss rod cover. Which does raise questions at this point...is anything else replaced or molested? Maybe not. And it's easy to find a correct replacement TRCover. Cheers,

Vestapol Posted November 20, 2012 Posted November 20, 2012 Epiphone still makes them. Leo, Epiphone makes a reissue of the Gibson NightHawk. Are you confusing this with the BluesHawk?
