HumanJHawkins Posted February 16, 2012 Posted February 16, 2012 Does anyone know the reason why official Gibson strap buttons with screws come with one screw larger than the other? The first time I noticed this on a guitar, I thought it had been repaired with an incorrect part. Then I noticed a sealed Gibson replacement package with the same set of two different screws.

My understanding is that during the painting process, they are hung using the hole in the tail end, which requires the hole being bigger.
