EuroAussie Posted February 16, 2012 Posted February 16, 2012 Sounded pretty darn good to me man. Boy, do I love the sound of a J-45, cool hair too !
Buc McMaster Posted February 17, 2012 Posted February 17, 2012 Wow. I was expecting a cover of the old Johnny Winter tune of the same name. Open tuning? Gotta love a J45!! Good job!
passthej45 Posted February 17, 2012 Author Posted February 17, 2012 sorry for the disapointment. Open D (less stress on neck), capo'd on Fret to for key of E.
JuanCarlosVejar Posted February 17, 2012 Posted February 17, 2012 Rolling Stones all the way :D Keef , Ronnie and Mick would be proud ! JC
GotTheSilver Posted February 17, 2012 Posted February 17, 2012 That was awesome!!! Sounded great! That is one of the many Rolling Stones tunes I have been wanting to learn, but just have not gotten to yet. I do play a few of their songs, though.
MissouriPicker Posted February 17, 2012 Posted February 17, 2012 Very, very cool. And the guitar sounds great.
passthej45 Posted February 17, 2012 Author Posted February 17, 2012 "black nuts"...........hmmm *leaves that one alone* Anyone notice the LOP(lack of pickguard)? 0
GotTheSilver Posted February 17, 2012 Posted February 17, 2012 Anyone notice the LOP(lack of pickguard)? I had not noticed the first time, but I think the guitar looks very nice sans-pg. I took the pg off my Les Paul before I even left the store. I just prefer the look of a LP without a pg. Seeing several J-45s without pgs lately, I am starting to really like that smooth look also.
pfox14 Posted February 17, 2012 Posted February 17, 2012 I like the open tuning with the capo. Makes the guitar sound very bright & bluesy.
Buc McMaster Posted February 17, 2012 Posted February 17, 2012 sorry for the disapointment. Oh I wasn't disappointed! Surprised. I am very familiar with the old tune from the Johnny Winter And album from the 70's, so it naturally came to mind when I saw your post title. You did good with this one - I like it!
Danner Posted February 17, 2012 Posted February 17, 2012 NIce to hear the J-45 really sing Thanks for posting.

passthej45 Posted February 17, 2012 Author Posted February 17, 2012 Mick never got the Bay City Rollers look down so well! Cool playing PTJ45. you REALLY wouldn't want me to do any singing. I forgot all about the Bay City Rollers......probably for a good reason.
BewilderedPunkRabbit Posted February 23, 2012 Posted February 23, 2012 Really nice! I was thinking about learning this one. Thanks for the free lesson!
