Rocky4 Posted February 16, 2012 Posted February 16, 2012 Down Payment Blues or at least something from Powerage
S t e v e Posted February 16, 2012 Author Posted February 16, 2012 Down Payment Blues or at least something from Powerage i love that album, the cd my son has is "back in black" B)
AlanH Posted February 16, 2012 Posted February 16, 2012 Down Payment Blues or at least something from Powerage I love that track. Great (and dead easy) riff to play too! Off BiB, I'd choose "Shoot to thrill"
BIGBENDS Posted February 16, 2012 Posted February 16, 2012 Maybe a couple from the first album? Can I Sit Next To You Girl and Little Lover always make me smile.
AlanH Posted February 16, 2012 Posted February 16, 2012 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mWGp4pFrPIc Anybody spot anything different on this vid?
manse Posted February 16, 2012 Posted February 16, 2012 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mWGp4pFrPIc Anybody spot anything different on this vid? a bit more Orange than you would expect!!
AlanH Posted February 17, 2012 Posted February 17, 2012 a bit more Orange than you would expect!! You've got it! Apparently, you can even play AC/DC riffs on a Gretsch too! Who would have thought it?
krock Posted February 17, 2012 Posted February 17, 2012 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mWGp4pFrPIc Anybody spot anything different on this vid? Didnt realise they played oranges early in their career. I always loved have a drink on me
alexri Posted February 17, 2012 Posted February 17, 2012 Shoot to Thrill has always been my favorite ACDC song.
EvoRider Posted February 17, 2012 Posted February 17, 2012 I think you need to listen to ALL of AC/DC songs... But be aware of headbanging!!
pfox14 Posted February 17, 2012 Posted February 17, 2012 "Sin City" & "Riff Raff" are my 2 favorite cuts
Harpo Posted February 17, 2012 Posted February 17, 2012 When it comes to AC/DC Money Talks[flapper] http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PmyzFsYEdco
RaysEpiphone Posted February 17, 2012 Posted February 17, 2012 Didnt realise they played oranges early in their career. I always loved have a drink on me Yep, that's about the best song on Back in Black, but I like most anything they put out.
AlanH Posted February 17, 2012 Posted February 17, 2012 I also love Have a drink on me. Here's a question...... Will Back in Black ever overtake Thriller as the best selling album on record? I can see BiB still being bought and played as much in 50 years time as it is now. To me Jacko's music is not the sort that will appeal to generation after generation. Many kids these days like AC/DC regardless of whether their parents liked them or not. There is a percentage of the human race whose hair will always stand on end and whose blood will boil when they hear that album. I can see it now. As our ancestors escape the dying earth in their ion drive interstellar lifeboat they'll all be singing "well I'm backkkkkkk in blaaaaaaaack!!!!!!!!!" Cue solo!
kaleb Posted February 18, 2012 Posted February 18, 2012 I think they're the only group that has never had a bad song. Plus, they have never really sounded "off", even in those years spent without Phil Rudd. They always sound good! And EVERYONE loves a little AC charge! My favorite album is Highway To Hell (Walk All Over You and Touch Too Much are my favorites). That ensured that Bon Scott died with dignity. John Bonham didn't....His last album was "In Through The Out Door"...OUCH! And plus, when most bands make a "comeback" album, they usually suck or are decent at best (Kiss 'Psycho Circus" comes to mind). Black Ice is AWESOME!!!! I mean, Mal has never had a bad riff!
AlanH Posted February 18, 2012 Posted February 18, 2012 Looks like a p 90 pick up in the sg . I've recently bought the remastered DVD of the Let there be rock Paris concert documentary (Highway to Hell tour.) I have it on a betamax tape and, for obvious reasons, haven't watched it for about 20 years. Anyway, when I did put my new DVD on the other week I was convinced Angus had a P90 on the SG he uses from the start. In fact, that SG looked similar to the one on the clip above. He moves around that much on stage it took 5 or 6 songs in before I finally eyeballed them as humbuckers.
JM2112 Posted February 18, 2012 Posted February 18, 2012 AC/DC with Bon Scott: Whole Lotta Rosie AC/DC with Brian Johnson: Hells Bells
BIGBENDS Posted February 18, 2012 Posted February 18, 2012 If we're talking Back In Black I really dig Let Me Put My Love Into You.
kaleb Posted February 18, 2012 Posted February 18, 2012 That "Can I Sit Next to You" vid was the first time I have ever recognized Angus using a neck pickup.
mikekefr Posted February 18, 2012 Posted February 18, 2012 Have a drink on me & Rock and roll aint noise pollution are both good songs /cheers
