montecristo1
I have a vintage Gibson Dove. The serial number ends with 69. Does that mean its a 1969 model? I contacted a dealer about the instrument and they said it was a 1970 - 1972.. I had just heard one time in some cases the last two digits of the serial number indicated the year it was made. Does a serial number ending in 69 sound correct to be a 1970 to 1972 model Gibson Dove? Thanks.
slimt
I think a Picture of the Guitar , Back and front along with a complete serial Number would work better.. Doves are Double x Braced from the 70s..

pfox14
Posting a complete serial # should be obvious. Ending in 69 means nothing in terms of dating the guitar.

L5Larry
Just to reiterate: Gibson used various dated coded serial number systems, using the last two digits was NOT one of them!
