No shock to me. <grin>

I always figured the 175 as an ideal playing guitar, if not THE playing guitar. Period.

It is indeed the ideal playing guitar Milod and I know you're speaking from experience. [thumbup]

Very nice indeed. I do like a black finish with matching headstock...looks like it means business.

Your guitar is 4 years older than me haha.

That's a cool little setup. I want one of those amps. Any chance of some clips?

Dub,

I very rarely record myself playing.

It's a factor of moving everything around and setting it up.

I suppose I could put something together in the coming days.

If you ever find one of the GA-5s, don't pay more than $350.00 for it.

I've seen them go for $250-350 all the time.

True Tone Music in Santa Monica was asking $999.00 for one in their shop and I've seen ridiculous prices on Ebay too.

It's a hand made, point-to-point wired 5-watt wonder. People swear by them.

I love mine and would certainly buy another one. In fact, I bid on one on ebay recently.

Good luck.

The GA-5 is a really, really cool little amp.

Just a little hipness for those that care, or don't know:

The Fender CHAMP (vintage) is really the amp most go for or know about, and it HAS gone through some slight changes. But, the first ones were taken straight out of the RCA tube manual, following the design and specs as published by RCA.

MANY, small 5 watters, like small lapsteel amps, and off-brand amps are actually identical to the early Champs. That includes the GA-5. The schematic for the GA-5 is the one often refereed to when needing one for dealing with all these cool RCA-manual-designed amps.

For playing around the house, or recording, it is REALLY hard to beat these amps. It is the only way (I know of) to get tube sound, tube overdrive/distortion, and tube reaction that is real at a lower volume or a big sound in a small room. And, they sound GREAT clean as well.
