gccustom Posted February 18, 2012 Posted February 18, 2012 I have a Gibson L4 CES I bought about 1 year ago from a local shop. It belonged to a collector who was liquidating some assets. On the head stock beneath the embossed serial number is a stamp saying "Original Gibson Prototype". I'm wondering what this means and does it influence the value of the guitar?
slimt Posted February 19, 2012 Posted February 19, 2012 Hello, would you have a picture? I have owned a few others with a Branded Prototype on the peghead.
gccustom Posted February 19, 2012 Author Posted February 19, 2012 I'll get my daughter to take one tomorrow and pos it.
slimt Posted February 20, 2012 Posted February 20, 2012 Here are a couple of photos 1986? I would imaging it would sell for the same as a L4.. the thing that is unusual is the Decal.. Ive only seen Protos Branded on the back.. Like a Burnt in Brand.. ..
