I've had this black custom for around 7 years, bought off a bandmate during highschool. Finally had the money and arsenal to brin it in for some much needed repairs and upgrades:

New handcut bone nut

New toggle switch

New bridge

Gibson classic 57 and burstbucker pickups (from a gibson les paul traditional plus)

Pots, wiring, and input jack from said gibson as well

These pickups are also split by push pull pots.

This thin sings now (it used to fart!) overall cost me $300 for parts and labor by my local luhier (i dont trust myself or guitar center) and now i have an axe i can actually play!

Lazerface,

Congrats...IMHO you have the right idea.

Whether it was a $50 beater or a $3000 Gibson. If you can make it your own for 2 or 3 bills,

you've got a guitar for life.

Job Well Done!

Willy
